Generation Squeeze working to get the post-Boomer vote out

The BC-based “Generation Squeeze” movement is active again this election.

UBC professor Paul Kershaw has been trying to get politicians to pay more attention to issues that matter to people in their 20s, 30s and 40s.

And he’s been trying to get those people to turn up and vote… and get more engaged in politics at all levels.

He says party leaders and candidates don’t to a very good job of reaching out to the post-Boomer generations, but he also says the problem goes both ways.

Kershaw says the major parties all have something in their platforms that address issues that matter to Generation Squeeze, but those policies aren’t high enough on the priority list.
