It might be a wet weekend for camping, but at least you’ll be allowed to light a campfire.
Marg Drysdale with the Coastal Fire Centre says they’ve lifted the ban.
Drysdale says if you do decide to light a fire, it can’t be larger than half a metre high by half a metre wide.
You also need to have a hand tool, like a shovel, nearby, and at least eight litres of water to put it out.
Fireworks, sky lanterns and burning barrels are still prohibited,  and municipal burning restriction still apply.
