Morningside Park in Nanaimo, just off Hammond Bay Road, is closed until further notice because of a sewage leak.
The leak from the treated sewage effluent outfall line was discovered on Tuesday, after effluent started surfacing near the beach in the park.
The Regional District of Nanaimo is working to repair the pipe.
Residents are being told to stay off the beach and out of the water near Morningside Park.
