The Coastal Fire Centre says the fire near Skutz Falls is still estimated at 10 hectares, but that number is likely to change as they get more accurate mapping.
The blaze was likely human caused, and broke out late Tuesday afternoon in logging slash on a block of private managed forest land.
Donna MacPherson with the Coastal Fire Centre says the fire has spread from the slash into the trees, but hasn’t gone beyond the forest company’s property.
There are no evacuation alerts or orders at this point.
