Lantzville by-election preview Part 3: Popperl, Griffey and Finnegan

There’s a by-election coming up August 8th in Lantzville and 12 candidates are hoping voters will give them a chance.

Coast FM has been talking to the candidates, and asked why they’re running.

Warren Griffey says it’s a job he’s already familiar with, and that experience is an asset.


Peter Popperl says he wants to get involved.


Richard Finnegan says there are important issues that need to be addressed.

We also asked what they think it’ll take for Council to get back on track after the resignations that left 4 seats vacant, and the dissent that plagued the Council

Popperl says they will need clear direction.


Griffey says Councillors must be willing to respect decisions made around the council table.


Finnegan says Councillors will need to think about the bigger picture.

Advance polls in Lantzville are scheduled for the 29th and 5th, and general voting day is August 8th.

There’s also an all candidates meeting at Costin Community Hall on August 1st.
