Sechelt removing ramp and float from Davis Bay Pier

The District of Sechelt says the ramp and float off the Davis Bay Pier are too dangerous and they have to go.

The decision comes following a report to the Parks Committee from District staff. They say even modest waves can make the structures too unstable.

The ramp and float were part of the 2014 revitalization of the pier – spearheaded by a community society.

Some on the Committee argued the society should have a say… But Councillor Alice Lutes says the District has to act.

For now access to the ramp and float is closed. They’ll be removed completely at a later date.
