It’s “Bike to Work Week” in Nanaimo and on the Sunshine Coast.
And on Parliament Hill, Monday May 25th is Bike Day.
West Vancouver Sunshine Coast MP John Weston (3rd from left), says this year the day will be capped with a major forum to bring Transport Canada together with cyclists.
He says the idea is based on something similar in the US.
Weston says there’s also an opportunity for the federal government to help set a national framework around cycling safety that the provinces can work with and to funnel more money into promoting cycle tourism
