The finishing touches are coming together for a Sunshine Coast Food Policy Council.
It’s a joint effort involving local governments and groups like the One Straw Society, the Community Foundation and the Rotary Club.
At a launch event this week it was announced that the Council will be formally established in June.
Part of the motivation to set up a Council came from work on an Agricultural Area Plan.
Greg Gebka worked on the project for the Sunshine Coast Regional District.

Gebka also says most farms in the area aren’t in food production.
