Cedar Secondary will be reopening in 2016.
Chair Steve Rae says that decision was ratified by the Nanaimo Ladysmith School Board last night, in a 6-3 vote.
Rae says some work will need to be done inside the building before it can be reopened as a secondary school again.
The SD68 Board also approved providing a bus next year for Cedar-area students attending school in Ladysmith.
